Google Mail

Google Mail is one of the premier options when it comes to selecting an email address service that is both user friendly and straightforward. Every person needs an email address, especially a scout so you may as well get a start on it while you are young.

Remember to create a username that is easily recognizable and more importantly one that you would not be ashamed to have to say out loud.

A little know fact about Gmail is that you can create additional addresses (per say) off your one account. For example, Scouts.Digital only allows an email address to be used once.

So, if a parent has two scouts in a troop but they do not have their own email addresses then they can use the following as a solution. To illustrate our example, let us say the parent's Gmail account is random.parent@gmail.com and they have two kids called Scout One and Scout Two they would be able to create two separate email addresses off their primary account by using the following formatting:

random.parent+scoutone@gmail.com

random.parent+scouttwo@gmail.com

By doing this they can have their email address on both of the scout's profiles so any emails sent to the Scout's address will go to the parent. This is especially handy when course leaders are sending out emails which the scouts are unlikely to action in a timely manner.
